About the project
“Young Giving: Promoting civic attitudes among high school students” is a project of the Foundation for Poland that prepares students for a socially conscious and responsible life. Thanks to the project, students get to know the world from a different perspective – they see the problems of their local communities, get to know NGOs, and learn what an important role they play in our lives. Activities undertaken as part of the project encourage students to cooperate and seek the most effective solutions for social problems. Young people also gain knowledge and skills that will be useful in the future – they learn about project methods and team work, problem-solving and foreseeing the consequences of decisions, and preparation of presentations and public speaking.
The project envisages the involvement and cooperation of second-year students, teachers, and heads of NGOs and residents, which leads to closer integration and strengthening of local ties.
An important aspect of the project is the promotion of philanthropy as a well-thought-out and systematic activity that will bring about positive social change and help solve concrete problems. At the same time, it should fit in with the expectations, interests and aspirations of the donors.
The project envisages developing an educational model in the area of civic education for secondary schools, a textbook for teachers, and preparatory workshops for teachers.
